Financial Controller | Health & Wellness Brand | Oxfordshire (hybrid)

Agora is delighted to be working with a fast-growth health and wellness brand in their search for a Financial Controller to join their growing team.

Deeply embedded within the health, beauty and wellness space, our client have recently secured numerous new deals and brand partnerships with some leading names within the FMCG space, and are confident of consistent growth in the coming years.

Culturally, they believe in inclusion and autonomy, and they are always keen to hear new ideas on how they can continuously improve their business. They are family run and offer working flexibility, with most of the team utilising two days working remotely.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you have full ownership of the month end process and will be tasked with the production and delivery of management accounts, commercial forecasts and budgets, while overseeing two individuals in transactional finance. Our client are ambitious, and they want this individual to be too, with the idea of reaching Finance Director level in the coming years.

Responsibilities:

  • Producing and presenting management accounts to board level
  • Reporting on financial data and providing commercial insights
  • Analysing the P&L and balance sheet
  • Conducting variance analysis
  • Leading with budgeting and forecasting
  • Forecasting cash flow
  • Overseeing transactional finance, including prepayments, accruals, journals, reconciliations, credit control and invoicing
  • Striving to improve processes and controls
  • Reporting on tax (including VAT returns), while adhering the HMRC regulations, financial regulation and internal controls
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Partnering with teams outside of finance, such as marketing
  • Identifying cost saving and profit maximising opportunities
  • Supporting the Finance Director with strategic and commercial decisions
  • Liaising with external accountants for year end

Essential criteria:

  • Experience at Finance Manager level and above in an SME
  • Background in FMCG, design or manufacturing
  • Studying for ACCA, ACA or CIMA, ideally approaching full qualification
  • Highly confident with producing management accounts and financial reports
  • Capable of being hands on with all aspects of finance, including supporting two Finance Assistants
  • Analytical, with a keen eye for detail
  • High degree of commercial acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable criteria:

  • Team management experience
  • Experience using Sage 200
  • Qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA

Salary:£55,000 - £65,000

Location: Oxfordshire (3 days in office)
