Your new companyOur client is a well established, privately owned group of companies in the construction sector.Your new roleReporting to the MD and leading a small team, you will oversee the financial health and operations of the company, including delivering accurate financial reports, managing cash flow, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and optimising financial processes and systems. Key responsibilities will include delivering accurate financial reports to support decision-making and ensure financial stability, maintaining and monitoring cash flow, preparing financial statements and statutory returns and managing budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across the Group. You will lead in maintaining compliance with UK regulations, tax laws and internal controls and oversee audits, statutory filings, and risk management.You will seek to streamline and integrate financial systems, collaborate with IT to improve efficiency and ensure accurate operational data tracking and foster collaboration, performance, and continuity of planning within your team and the business. This role will work closely with other departments to support strategic objectives.What you'll need to succeedThe successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience in financial management, including preparing financial reports and maintaining internal controls, managing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, and have strong team leadership and training. You will have implemented financial systems and processes and have coordinated internal and external audits as well as a proven ability to identify financial risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
