Butler Rose is seeking a Financial Controller to work closely with the CFO in a key strategic partnership role. As second in command, you will be responsible for monthly management reporting, forecasting, annual statutory audits, and periodic submissions to Group companies, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the P&L and Balance Sheet.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished finance professional with proven experience in leading, developing, and strengthening a finance team.

This is a crucial role, offering the chance to enhance financial processes, drive performance improvements and contribute to the long-term success of this leading business. Key Responsibilities:

* Motivate and develop a finance team, ranging from qualified accountants to junior-level staff, focusing on upskilling and building a strong, stable team. * Produce accurate monthly management reports, forecasts, and KPIs for the Board and senior stakeholders. * Take ownership of cash flow reporting and forecasting, collaborating with Group treasury. * Lead the budgeting and reforecasting processes, including modelling and scenario planning. * Oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with Group and statutory governance policies. * Handle all tax-related matters, including VAT, corporation tax, R&D tax credits, PAYE/NI, and customs. * Partner with functional departments to drive cost optimisation, improve efficiency and support project accountability. * Develop partner relationships with business functional areas, to support budgetary planning * Ensure sound financial controls and processes to enable the provision of insightful management information and KPIs, to help drive improvements across the business * Lead audits and finance systems integration within the Group. The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent), with at least five years experience in a medium-sized company or a larger corporate structure. * Demonstrate experience managing a finance team, from qualified accountants to junior staff, with a focus on development and performance enhancement. * Exposure to the manufacturing, engineering, automotive, or supply chain sectors (preferred but not essential). * Be confident in business partnering, supporting strategic decision-making. * Possess advanced knowledge of UK and non-UK tax regulations * Display a proactive, hands-on approach and excellent communication skills. * Work well under pressure and demonstrate the ability to take full ownership of the role and its responsibilities.
