Advise on strategic planning and business development.We are seeking a Finance Lead to take ownership of budgeting, reporting, and expenditure monitoring for the Force.
Leading a team of four, you will oversee key financial areas, including pensions reporting, cash, equity loans, balance sheets, and suspense ledger reconciliations.
You will also play a pivotal role in implementation projects, ensuring end-to-end processes-including systems-are fully understood, documented, and effectively integrated to meet Finance requirements.
We're looking for a proactive leader with a strong track record in team management, process simplification, and influencing stakeholders. A solutions-focused mindset and the ability to challenge existing practices are essential.
Given the technical nature of this role, experience in month-end and year-end close procedures, as well as ledger reconciliations, is crucial.
While knowledge of the Public Sector would be an advantage, it is not essential.
Profile
A successful 'Interim Financial Controller' should have:
- Professional accounting designation (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven experience in a senior financial managerial position.
- experience in month-end and year-end close procedures, as well as ledger reconciliations, is crucial.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
