We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our client's Finance team, where you'll play a crucial role in driving financial efficiency and supporting decision-making at senior management levels.

About the Role:As a Management Accountant, you will be at the heart of financial operations. Your expertise will help achieve seamless monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes. You'll be the go-to person for finance-related queries, providing vital support to budget holders across various cost centres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of month-end reporting processes, analysing and producing comprehensive reporting packs for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance Business Partners to offer financial advice, coaching, and guidance to budget holders.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting exercises, ensuring adherence to public money management principles.
  • Foster strong customer relationships to ensure timely cash flows into the organisation.
  • Work alongside the Business Systems Support team to enhance reporting and improve financial processes.
  • Maintain data integrity in Oracle (Fusion and EPM) and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Support tracking and modelling of financials for key projects and management reports.
  • Participate in various financial exercises and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Control Team to produce accurate end-of-year accounts and engage in audit activities.

Who We're Looking For:

  • AAT Qualified or actively pursuing a professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) with 2-3 years of experience in an accountancy environment, preferably within the public sector.
  • Proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills - your financial modelling skills will shine here!
  • Confident in using virtual meeting platforms for effective stakeholder communication.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and external finance advisors.
  • High numeracy and analytical skills, with a knack for innovative problem-solving.
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
  • Previous experience in management reporting and budgeting/forecasting processes is a plus!
