Local Authority in Oxfordshire is looking for a dedicated individual to join the team as a Council Tax and Business Rates Collection Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting money due for Council Tax and Business Rates, negotiating repayment plans, and taking recovery actions when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting Council Tax and Business Rates.
  • Processing data in line with legislation and Council policies.
  • Verifying liability and assisting in the collection of dues.
  • Following recovery procedures to determine the best action.
  • Contacting and following up with customers behind on payments.
  • Obtaining financial information to negotiate repayment plans.
  • Maximizing benefits, discounts, exemptions, and reliefs for eligible customers.
  • Escalating cases to Senior Recovery Officers when needed.
  • Recommending cases for write-off when further recovery is not appropriate.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of the Revenues service.

Must have recent experience of using Civica (Open Revenues)
