Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Graphic Designer to join Thames Valley Police.

You would be based at the Thames Valley Police HQ (South). This would be a temporary assignment initially until the end of June 2025. The rate is £20.07 per hour, working Monday - Friday 37 hours per week.

The overall purpose of the role is to: provide the Force with high quality, cost effective and professional designs for use in publications, digital media, web, video and print.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS:

The key result areas in the role are as follows:

  • Provide high quality original designs for internal and external use to agreed timescales.
  • Advise on the planning and production of materials for various formats in line with the brief and budget. Provide advice on appropriate images in terms of audience impact.
  • Liaise with printers and suppliers to ascertain the most cost-effective quotes, check the finished product to ensure it meets the required specifications.
  • Brief and art direct the photographer in order to produce the most appropriate images for the brief.
  • Keep accurate records of all work undertaken and ensure that files are backed up regularly. Ensure graphic design equipment is fully maintained and operational.
  • Provide design and corporate style advice to external organisations and partners.
  • Identify income generation opportunities or cost savings by sharing or charging for designs.
  • Provide advice and guidance on museum exhibits and merchandising to ensure the museum provides an effective role in communicating a positive image of Thames Valley Police to the public.

The knowledge or skills required in the role are as follows:

  • Recognised qualification in graphic design and equivalent experience.
  • Fully proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat professional, MS Office.
  • Proven experience working in graphic design for print web and social media.
  • Experience of working with customers, taking design briefs, and presenting design concepts.
  • Experience of working as a part of a team being able to plan and work to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in producing graphics with accessibility in mind.
  • Experience in producing motion graphics.
  • Due to Police Criteria, you must have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years in order to apply for this role.
