A local Kidlington, Oxfordshire based school is eager to expand their Teaching Assistant team, appointing a new Graduate Teaching Assistant in their SEN department. Embark on this exciting journey to directly make a positive impact on young Primary learners.

You will be supporting children with SEN (special educational needs), where they are not able to access the mainstream classroom setting or are in the transition to return. They manage with varying degrees of: ASD, Autism, Dyslexia and various other learning disabilities.

The Graduate Teaching Assistant role:

  • Assist classroom activities - Work in partnership with teachers to plan and perform dynamic lessons to pupils, implementing inclusive and creative strategies. 1:1 support may be required.
  • Excellent support team - opportunities for progression, essential for aspiring Early Careers.
  • Supporting and nurturing the environment for the Kidlington based students to absorb a solid foundation of their education. Previous understanding of the national Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 curriculum is not essential, ability to adapt to new content is key.
  • Awareness of child safe-guarding and ability to highlight concerns to senior teaching staff.
  • Promote holistic student growth, contribute to creating a safe cohesive classroom.

About you:

  • To hold a UK or equivalent Bsc/BA/Ma/Msc degree (2:1) in Criminology, Psychology, Sociology or STEM subjects.
  • Has a "Can do" attitude, with an enthusiasm for learning!
