Avocet Recruitment is working exclusively alongside a small/medium house builder that require an Assistant Site Manager on their development in North Oxford. This developer has a strong pipeline of sites coming up in the Oxfordshire region, offering job security and progression for the right person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the residential site.
  • Ensure all works are carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams to ensure the project progresses on time and within budget.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to building plans.
  • Provide on-site support and guidance to construction teams to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Assist in managing project documentation, including progress reports, risk assessments, and health and safety records.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in residential construction or a similar role, with a strong understanding of site management.
  • Experience in working with both internal teams and external contractors.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to solve problems efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • CSCS card and relevant qualifications (SSSTS or SMSTS desirable but not essential).
