Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team in Wheatley. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the educational experience of students with special needs, ensuring they receive the tailored education required to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs):

    • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans for students with special needs.
    • Regularly assess students' progress and adjust IEPs as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
  2. Instructional Strategies:

    • Employ a variety of teaching methods and strategies to address the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
    • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  3. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's education.
    • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and external professionals to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
  4. Classroom Management:

    • Maintain a structured and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
    • Implement behavioral management plans as necessary and provide guidance to teaching assistants on best practices.
  5. Professional Development:

    • Stay updated with the latest SEN teaching strategies, technologies, and best practices through continuous professional development.
    • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and educational workshops.
  6. Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, IEPs, and any other required documentation.
    • Prepare reports and updates for review by senior staff and parents as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
