Your new company

Hays is partnering with a charitable organisation in the Ayrshire area, to find a Finance Officer on a temporary basis but the opportunity to be made permanent is available. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to and enhance the finance team.The role offers 37.5 hours per week, typically from 08:30am to 16:30pm, with flexibility in start and finish times. While the position will initially require full-time office attendance, there is an option for flexible working arrangements thereafter.

Your new role

In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of all financial operations and processes.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Analyse and investigate purchase ledger queries, ensuring that the financial procedures are followed and no duplication of payments.
  • Posting financial entries
  • Assist with cash flow reporting
  • Ensure invoices are processed in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile supplier statements on SAGE 50.
  • Responsible for processing journals and uploading to SAGE.
  • Prepare and generate BACS payments.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have prior bookkeeping experience and have strong attention to detail. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate openly and build positive relationships both internally and externally. You will ideally have experience using Sage 50 or a similar integrated package. In addition, you must have a proactive 'can do' attitude and be a self-starter, able to take initiative and work independently. You must be immediately available to start the role and able to hit the ground running.
