Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with PLC control expertise to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-end automation and welding systems, with the flexibility for occasional international travel.
Role Overview:
As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, programming, and maintaining PLC-based control systems used in industrial automation and welding applications. This role will require flexibility to travel internationally, including 4-6 weeks per year in the Middle East, to support installations and customer projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming & Development: Design, develop, and maintain PLC control systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
- Automation & Welding Integration: Implement automated control solutions for welding and industrial machinery.
- System Troubleshooting & Optimisation: Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC, HMI, SCADA, and automation processes.
- On-Site Installation & Commissioning: Support system installations, commissioning, and testing at customer sites.
- Technical Support & Training: Provide expert guidance and training to clients on automation systems.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records, including technical documentation, service reports, and system schematics.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Electronic or Automation Engineering qualification (BEng/HND or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in PLC programming, automation, and industrial control systems.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of industrial automation, robotics, welding automation, and control systems.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities for electrical and control systems.
- Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel internationally for project installations and customer support (Middle East: 4-6 weeks per year).
