Our client specialises in installing all types of mechanical plants for the Water industry across the UK. They offer services including water & wastewater treatment, including design, fabrication, site installation and testing. Due to ongoing success, they are looking to recruit an experienced Fabrication Workshop Manager to join their team.

(Fabrication Workshop Manager) - Position Overview

  • Lead, plan, coordinate, and execute of steelwork projects from enquiry to completion.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints.
  • Liaise with internal Project Managers, Clients, Engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and subcontractor services, negotiating contracts and agreements as required.
  • Monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation to BS EN 1090 and EN ISO 3834
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing strategies to minimize disruptions and
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, addressing concerns and promoting customer satisfaction.

(Fabrication Workshop Manager) - Position Requirements

  • Proven Manager in the construction industry, with a focus on steel fabrication and installation, and have a strong understanding of steelwork processes, techniques, and regulations.
  • Possess excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Experienced Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC)
  • Strong man management skills including effective team leadership, conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Certification in Distribution Operation Maintenance Strategy (DOMS) and National Water Hygiene (advantageous)
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card (advantageous)

(Fabrication Workshop Manager) - Position Remuneration

  • Salary £55,000 - £60,000 (DOE)
