Accounts Technician

  • Location: King’s Lynn
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week)
  • Salary: £25,000 - £30,000

Reed Practice Norfolk are currently recruiting for an Accounts Technician on behalf of a leading firm in the accounting sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to undertake high-quality accounts preparation, audit, and tax compliance services for a diverse range of business clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

Day-to-day of the role:

Audit and Accounting

  • Process client records to final accounts stage.
  • Complete file sections, cross-referencing schedules, and work programmes.
  • Attend client premises and assist with external audits as required.
  • Provide projections, forecasting information, and analyse management information tailored to client needs.
  • Utilize various paperless software applications and handle billing processes.

VAT

  • Process records to draft VAT returns and complete them once checked.
  • Communicate with clients upon completion and submit VAT returns to HMRC.

Business Development and Client Management

  • Develop and maintain client relationships through various forms of communication.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and participate in business development activities.
  • Display reliable accounting knowledge during client interactions and contribute ideas and strategies.

Tax Compliance

  • Prepare and submit corporation and self-assessment tax returns, including detailed computations and schedules.
  • Stay informed on tax planning strategies and legislative changes.

Company Secretarial

  • Prepare and submit Confirmation Statements and other Companies House forms.

General

  • Undertake general administrative tasks and support team collaboration within the organisation.
  • Assist Partners and managers with various tasks and ensure continuous professional development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accounts preparation, audit, and tax compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in computerised tax software and paperless applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
