Accounts Technician
- Location: King’s Lynn
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week)
- Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Reed Practice Norfolk are currently recruiting for an Accounts Technician on behalf of a leading firm in the accounting sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to undertake high-quality accounts preparation, audit, and tax compliance services for a diverse range of business clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
Day-to-day of the role:
Audit and Accounting
- Process client records to final accounts stage.
- Complete file sections, cross-referencing schedules, and work programmes.
- Attend client premises and assist with external audits as required.
- Provide projections, forecasting information, and analyse management information tailored to client needs.
- Utilize various paperless software applications and handle billing processes.
VAT
- Process records to draft VAT returns and complete them once checked.
- Communicate with clients upon completion and submit VAT returns to HMRC.
Business Development and Client Management
- Develop and maintain client relationships through various forms of communication.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and participate in business development activities.
- Display reliable accounting knowledge during client interactions and contribute ideas and strategies.
Tax Compliance
- Prepare and submit corporation and self-assessment tax returns, including detailed computations and schedules.
- Stay informed on tax planning strategies and legislative changes.
Company Secretarial
- Prepare and submit Confirmation Statements and other Companies House forms.
General
- Undertake general administrative tasks and support team collaboration within the organisation.
- Assist Partners and managers with various tasks and ensure continuous professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accounts preparation, audit, and tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in computerised tax software and paperless applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
