Reed Accountancy Norwich are delighted to be working on a retained basis with a business based in West Norfolk to recruit for an Accounts Assistant to support the clients accounting team’s daily operations. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional organisational and time management skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be involved in maintaining daily worksheets, the general ledger system, and providing general administrative support.

This position offers a pathway to increased responsibilities within the purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general ledger areas.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Process bills for payment and check and process vendor invoices, liaising with other departments for invoice approval.
  • Maintain files and electronic records, including tracking project costs and timings.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing delivery notes and supplier invoices.
  • Update and maintain the supplier database.
  • Track and resolve accounting problems and discrepancies as needed.
  • Manage the accounts/admin inbox and process staff expenses.
  • Provide telephone reception cover support as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Strong analytic skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to cope under extreme pressure and use own initiative to resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Professional phone etiquette.
  • Desirable: Experience in a similar role, AAT qualification.
