The Vacancy

Vacancy: Enhanced Service Manager

Salary: c£40,000 depending on experience

Hours: Full time 37.5

Location: Kings Lynn, Norfolk

FitzRoy are recruiting an experienced learning disability service manager to lead a single person specialist service that supports one man with Complex support needs.

Purpose of the job

As the Manager, you will give support to this person being discharged from a long-term hospital stay. You will need to have a good understanding and experience of the application of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983. The person has been subject to the Mental Health Act 1983, and you will also need to be familiar with forensic sections including MHA 37/41 and subject to the Ministry of Justice.

You will build relationships with commissioners, health colleagues and the ICB, as well as community teams in preventing hospital re-admission. You will be working in an exciting and sometimes challenging environment in close partnership with the Area and Regional Manager as well as Fitzroys Mental Health Lead to ensure safe discharge for the person, and a long-term home support for the person living in the community.

As a Leader, you will require prominent levels of confidence and independence to support and manage the team. You will have experience of working creatively with adults who have care and support needs and will bring a commitment to promoting independence and wellbeing whilst safely managing risks. In return, you will receive plenty of support and training to help you reach your potential.

You will lead, empower, and develop a team to ensure a sustainable, quality person-centred service is provided, which can truly transform the persons life. You will be able to develop relationships with people we support, their families and have strong organisational skills, demonstrating your ability to prioritise your workload effectively and accurately. You will need to have effective communication and IT skills, which are essential tools to aid developing flexible working practices.

What you will need

  • PBS Diploma Level 5 or commitment to undertake
  • NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • PROACT-SCIPr trainer or commitment to undertake
  • Any equivalent qualifications in the appropriate field
  • Experience in Positive behaviour support
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including CQC and relevant sector requirements for health safety and safeguarding of vulnerable adults
  • Safeguarding adults to level 3 of the Intercollegiate Standards
