We are seeking an immediate start Therapeutic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in a nurturing environment designed for pupils who find mainstream education challenging. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional skilled in therapeutic intervention, behaviour de-escalation, and providing pastoral care.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday (term time only) from 8am to 4pm
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to support the emotional and educational development of pupils with trauma and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs).
  • Work closely with pupils to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.
  • Provide emotional support and pastoral care to help students cope with personal and academic challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to plan and coordinate support strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of interventions and student outcomes, adapting strategies as needed to maximise effectiveness.
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes respect, understanding, and inclusion.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role, working with children or young people who have experienced trauma or have SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic intervention techniques and behaviour management strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and inspire trust in students.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children in their education and personal development.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
