Ashley Kate is pleased to be working with a market leading Manufacturing company who are seeking a Group HR Assistant.

This is a permanent position, based at either their site in Bardney or Kings Lynn. Salary £27k - £30k

As a HR Assistant you will report into the HR manager and play a crucial role where you will support 3 sites and ensure a smooth process of the HR process.

About the role:

  • Assist the HR Manager with various HR initiatives, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Handle tasks such as posting job advertisements, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Support the onboarding process by preparing necessary documentation and coordinating induction schedules with managers.
  • Conduct right-to-work and reference checks for all new employees.
  • Manage employee annual leave entitlements, assist managers in recording sickness absence, ensure return-to-work interviews are completed, and flag any concerns to the HR Manager.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HR Information System (HRIS) through data entry and generate reports as required.
  • Assist with identifying and scheduling training programs and ensure training records are kept up to date in the HR system.
  • Draft and distribute business communications via email, digital screens, and other platforms.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits such as company cars, private healthcare, and more.
  • Support in organising company events, including summer barbecues, Christmas parties, team-building activities, and management conferences.
  • Arrange gifts for new employees, long-service milestones, and special life events.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries on HR-related topics, adhering to company policies and escalating complex issues to the HR Manager when needed.
  • Represent the company at career fairs and events, working with the HR Manager to promote the organisation as an employer of choice.
  • Advocate for safety across all sites and address non-compliance issues when observed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

About you:

  • A Degree in HR Management is desirable
  • CIPD qualification (or willing to achieve)- essential
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good Math's skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to build rapport and trust at all levels
  • Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive information
  • Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems and processes
  • A strong understanding of HR practices and employment legislation is desirable.
  • Continuous improvement- always looking for innovation to drive the team and business forward
  • Full UK driving license (travel to other sites and events will be required).
