Solicitor - Head of Private ClientWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Solicitor to lead our Private Client department following a recent leadership transition. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented legal professional to take charge of an established team and drive departmental growth.About Our ClientOur Client is a modern multi service regional Law Firm and due to retirement are seeking a Head of Private Client Solicitor to join their dynamic, collaborative, and thriving team. About the position: Our Client is seeking an experienced and ambitious Private Client Solicitor with at least 5 years PQE to Head up the department and can be based in any of their Norfolk offices. The successful candidate will work closely with the Management Board to support the Firm's growth and deliver the department's strategic goals.Key Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day management of the department, including monitoring and distribution of matters.
  • Supervision of fee-earning work undertaken by junior members of the team.
  • Management of support services for the team.
  • Ensuring fee earners achieve their individual targets.
  • Maintaining orderly and up-to-date files, including electronic files, and complying with the company’s file management policy.
  • Completing time records and other management records required by the company.
  • Cross-referring work and clients within the firm.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, including Lexcel compliance.
  • Financial control, including managing the cash flow for the team through efficient billing and payment procedures.
  • Identifying fee-earning opportunities and developing those opportunities.
  • Producing fee income in line with targets and agreed objectives.
  • Performing fee-earning work accurately, reliably, and in accordance with the firm's quality and risk procedures.
  • Keeping informed of all changes in the law and practice relevant to the area of work.
  • Building the business and leading the department’s marketing efforts.
About YouThe ideal candidate must have:
  • At least 5 years PQE.
  • Sound knowledge and comprehensive understanding of Private Client legal matters
  • Business development decisions in line with the firm's requirements.
  • A strong work ethic and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across all offices
  • Strong leadership capabilities to supervise fee earners within the team.
  • Extensive experience within Private Client and the ability to build your own workload independently.
