On behalf of my client, I am looking for a Production Planner to join a company that is renowned for manufacturing and exporting a unique range products both nationally and internationally.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Planner to coordinate the efficient flow of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods through the production process. This role is pivotal in ensuring that production schedules are aligned with customer demands and company goals. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to optimise production operations, minimise delays, and ensure timely delivery to customers.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

  • Order Management:
    • Forecast and call off orders for raw materials based on production schedules and inventory levels.
    • Monitor raw material stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
    • Manage inventory to minimise waste and ensure sufficient supply for uninterrupted production.
  • Production Scheduling:
    • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, ensuring alignment with customer orders.
    • Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand or production capacity.
    • Coordinate with the Site Supervisor to prioritise orders and maximise production efficiency.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Serve as the primary liaison between production and commercial teams, providing regular updates on production status.
    • Collaborate with the Site Manager to align production activities with site operations and strategic objectives.
    • Work with the Site Supervisor to ensure that production orders are completed on time and that finished goods are prepared for shipment.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce lead times.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing practices and inventory management strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in production planning, supply chain management, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across various departments.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Full UK driving licence.
