JOB- Mechanical Design EngineerLOCATION – NorfolkTERM - PermanentSALARY- £40,000 to £50,000 per annum dependent on experienceMy client manufactures a range of equipment for different sectors. They are looking to expand their design team by taking on a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop as partof their existing team. The Mechanical Design Engineerwill ideally have the following attributes:
  • Previous experience working in a similar Mechanical Design Engineer role
  • Engineering qualification (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, BSc etc.) in Mechanical Engineeringor similar
  • Excellent 3D CAD skills (Solidworks or Inventor software ideal)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining and fabrication
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
  • Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be keen to develop with a company long term
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
  • Working within the current engineering team
  • Producing engineering drawings using SolidWorks software for new equipment
  • Generating the BOM’s to go with the associated designs
  • Be involved in the smooth runnung of projects / timescales
  • Offering advice on any engineering issues
  • Liasing with clients to understand their requirements
  • Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
