Overall, Purpose/Objectives of Role:
Accountable for people, plant, product and packaging delivery against clearly defined role outputs and responsibilities.
To pro-actively work with the packing team to achieve KPI’s on a day-to-day basis, without compromising the integrity of health & safety and quality of product.
Overseeing Carton and Film Team.
Purpose of the role.
The Role:
Lead, inspire and motivate a multi-disciplined team in the day-to-day shift activities throughout the packing operation, delegating effectively to develop a sense of pride and ownership in team performance.
Provide hands on leadership to raise the capability of the teams.
Ensure adequate cover in terms of personnel, predicting/planning workforce through trends/seasons.
Ensure teams are briefed regularly and are fully aware of site standards, procedures plans and line performance.
Collaborate with other departments to support the delivery of the production plan against the budgeted targets and volumes, ensuring achievement of standards in all areas (Quality, hygiene, material, and labour utilisation).
Analyse performance information and communicating this information to the team to continuously identify ways to improve systems and reduce costs.Â
Communicate job expectations.
Planning, monitoring, and appraising performance; coaching, counselling, and managing team members.
Maintaining workflow by monitoring steps of the process; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
Complete packing plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results.
Resolving personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
Lead the manufacturing element of the daily PDR, providing a thorough review of the previous 24 hours and the next 24-hour plans.
Build an H&S culture to promote ownership of H&S within the operation, ensuring compliance with statutory and company H&S requirements.
Establish and maintain a culture within the operation that supports all aspects of Lean Manufacturing; continuously identify ways to reduce costs and improve systems and standards in the operation utilising lean tools and techniques, to optimise efficiency and effectiveness of the operation.
Champion a culture of continuous development of the team through communication, training, coaching and ad hoc projects.
Carry out HR related matters - monitor/manage performance and absence of teams, taking corrective measures where necessary either informally or formally through the disciplinary process; actively participate in the on boarding and subsequent induction process.
Other ad hoc duties as may be required from time to time.
Carton and Film
Supervising Carton and Film Team.
Doing spot checks and Audits on sheds.
Managing the overall running of sheds.
Managing the paperwork and samples for Procurement.
Having an in-depth knowledge of SAP.
Providing Daily Reports.
Managing the teams’ holidays and organising cover if required.
Requirements for the role.
Experience/skills                           Â
Supervisory/management experience; including developing, coaching and discipline ideally gained within a food manufacturing environment.
Ability to motivate direct and lead aligning mind-set to behaviours and company expectations.
Proven demonstration of an investigative and problem-solving approach
Experience of safe systems of work
Performance/absence management
Solid understanding of HACCP and GMP’s including regulatory requirements
Awareness of BRC standards
Experience of conducting/chairing meetings
Working to and producing KPI’s/weekly reports
In depth knowledge of SAPÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

Job Related Experience/skills.                   Â
IOSH/NEBOSH QualificationÂ
High attention to detail
Proficient computer literacy, predominantly Excel and Outlook
