We are seeking a Site Technical Manager to lead and continually evolve the Technical & Quality function on our site. This role is crucial in ensuring that our site adheres to legislative requirements, customer specifications, BRC protocol, and industry guidelines, thereby producing safe and legal products. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the QA team and promoting a culture leading to technical and quality excellence.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain, uphold, and ensure full adherence and understanding of the Business Management & HACCP Systems on site.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Serve as the key contact for BRC and customer audits, ensuring all standards are implemented and an audit-ready status is maintained. Develop corrective and preventative actions following internal and 3rd party audits.
  • Maintain and improve quality standards, review and develop the factory process, and drive yield gains.
  • Stay updated with industry updates, information, advice, recommendations, and legislative changes from all relevant bodies, ensuring full compliance in all policies, procedures, documents, and records on site.
  • Take an active role in the leadership of the QA team, managing staff levels and absenteeism, and ensuring that all routine/scheduled operations and responsibilities are undertaken.
  • Implement and monitor Technical and Quality KPIs including, but not limited to, Complaints, Micro (Product and Environmental), Shelf life, Pesticide residue analysis, and Pest control.
  • Contribute to and be actively involved with new product/process development and innovation projects, ensuring that technical responsibilities within this are undertaken in full.
  • Develop Technical Improvement Plans both internally and with key suppliers, sharing the details and results with customers as appropriate.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the industry.
  • Strong understanding of legislative requirements, customer specifications, BRC protocol, and industry guidelines.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Experience in managing quality assurance programs and team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop corrective and preventative actions.
  • Knowledge of Business Management & HACCP Systems.
