We are seeking dedicated Housing Officers to provide support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness. In this role, you will help clients stay in their homes or secure new accommodation by delivering personalised housing and wellbeing plans, as well as providing ongoing support to sustain their tenancies.

Applicants must live near the Norwich area and must have a background in Housing, Lettings, or Property Management.

As a Housing Officer, you will be offered:

  • Hybrid working (1 or 2 days in the office per week)

Key Responsibilities as a Housing Officer:

  • Develop and implement person-centred Housing & Wellbeing Plans
  • Provide support to prevent homelessness and help individuals maintain their tenancies
  • Manage a caseload, working closely with clients to address housing-related issues
  • Engage with private landlords and the voluntary sector to secure accommodation
  • Provide intensive support for up to 12 months, including 3 months of intensive support
  • Work in collaboration with external agencies, including local authorities and housing teams
  • Advise clients on budgeting, employment, and education to help them achieve independence
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, legislative, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate case records and provide regular updates to managers

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of housing and benefits systems (Ideally)
  • Must live a commutable distance from Norwich
  • Lettings, Property Management or Housing experience
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and young people
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and work independently
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with external partners such as housing options teams and voluntary agencies
