Fawkes and Reece are currently working with a leading contractor who is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join their dynamic team. Our client specialises in building state-of-the-art warehouses, based near Maidstone.
Key Responsibilities for an Estimator
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information.
- Research and source materials, equipment, and labour costs for the project.
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost breakdowns and tender documentation.
- Assist in value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
- Monitor market trends to anticipate fluctuations in costs and availability.
- Present estimates to senior management and clients with confidence and clarity.
- Contribute to risk analysis and contingency planning for the project.
Key Requirements for an Estimator
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with projects of a similar scale and complexity.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar).
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred.
Key Requirements for an Estimator
- This role comes with a salary of 55k -65k
