As a Finance Associate, you'll play a key role in managing credit control and the purchase ledger, ensuring financial accuracy and supporting strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will be a mix of transactional and analytical tasks, allowing you to develop a well-rounded financial skill set while contributing to the organisation's success. You will drive business continuity and deliver the best service to their customer base across diverse regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Control:

  • Evaluate customer credit status and set appropriate credit limits, managing outstanding debt and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain customer accounts to prevent unnecessary payment delays and where necessary, issue credit notes and re-invoices.
  • Process and allocate daily bank payments.

Accounts Payable:

  • Communicate with suppliers to process invoices and resolve queries and perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely approval and processing of supplier payments in line with company policies, investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items.

Financial Analysis & Reporting:

  • Assist in financial data analysis to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to budget preparation and forecasting and support financial reporting by ensuring accuracy in transactions and reconciliations.

Risk & Cash Flow Management:

  • Identify and assess financial risks, recommending proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in managing cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to enhance financial controls and efficiencies.

Annual Responsibilities:

  • Assist with financial audit preparation and participate in audit processes.

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a Finance Associate or similar role.
Strong understanding of financial principles, bookkeeping, costing, and the business environment.
Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA (or working towards certification).
Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders professionally and persistently.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and transactions.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Competency in accounting-based software, CRM systems and MS Office, including Excel.
