Were currently recruiting for a client with branches within and around the M25. They are a leading supplier of roofing materials and have been operating for over 45 years. They are recruiting for a Trade Counter Sales Assistant to be based in their Watford branch.
Key Objectives of a Trade Counter Sales Assistant:
The role:
- Provide our customers with a knowledgeable, friendly, and dependable service at the same time optimising branch sales and profit.
- To efficiently work as part of a team and that our customer expectations are not just met but exceeded.
Key Responsibilities of a Trade Counter Sales Assistant:
- Build effective relationships with customers to understand their requirements, ensuring that the correct products are supplied.
- Use initiative to identify sales opportunities and offer advice and solutions to customers.
- Maintain a clean and efficiently merchandised counter area in line with Company Policy.
- Ensure that company policies are always followed when producing paperwork associated with sales.
- Liaise with suppliers and other branches and departments where necessary.
- Support the Branch Manager and colleagues in working as a team to ensure the branch operates efficiently within Company Policy.
- Always ensure a tidy working environment in line with Health & Safety Guidelines
- Perform any other duties including stock-taking, placing orders with suppliers, and contacting customers, as required by the Company.
- Ensure shop stock is clean, clearly identifiable and kept in good order and low stocks highlighted to Branch Management where necessary.
- Work within company policy and procedures including Health & Safety Guidelines
- Perform any other duties including stock-taking and as maybe deemed necessary or as maybe required by the Company.
Key Skills of a Trade Counter Sales Assistant:
Must have excellent communication skills, being able to communicate at all levels.
Experience of working in a builders/roofing merchant is essential.
Can take initiative to push projects forward.
Have good problem-solving skills.
All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK and documented evidence will be required as part of the recruitment process.
Package:
Up to £30,000
Discretionary Christmas Bonus
20 days holiday + bank holidays increases within length of service after 3 years.
Monday Friday 7:00am 4:30pm, Saturday 7:00am 10:30am (this will be on an alternate week shift after 6 months probation initially will be every Saturday for 3 hours.
