Hotel Receptionist

We are looking for a receptionist to develop their career further by joining a wonderful team of individuals here at Burgh Island! This hotel is an iconic landmark and retreat on a wildly beautiful and secluded tidal Island. A career at Burgh Island is unique and not for the faint-hearted. Island life brings with it several challenges in terms of location and working hours.
Live-in accommodation is available, subject to availability. This starts at 拢25.00 per week in a shared room)
F/T: 40 Hours per week
Salary: 拢23795.00
Requirements for the role:
路 Manage check in and check out process.
路 Answer the phone, take reservations and deal with any enquiries.
路 Prepare catering list with important information and making sure kitchen and front of house are aware.
路 Prepare daily reports as required.
路 Manage guest payments, invoices, and receipts.
路 Reconcile petty cash.
路 Manage comprehensive hand over to following shift.
路 Help guests with local enquiries, bookings, tickets, and travel arrangements.
路 Report maintenance items to the maintenance logbook.
路 Responsible for all health & safety during shift.
路 Prepare welcome drinks for arriving guests.
路 All future deposits are processed and recorded.
路 All pre-charges are processed and recorded.
路 Responsible for guest security and ensuring their belongings are labelled correctly.
路 Assist front of house as necessary
路 Ensure all allergies/intolerances are clearly marked on the catering list and that the F&B team is aware of it.
General duties:
路 Assist with other functions as necessary.
路 Maintain register of visiting maintenance/service companies.
路 Report accidents or incidents promptly and correctly.
路 Be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour in or around the hotel.
路 Handle emergencies if necessary, during shift.
路 Comply with all Reception related SOP鈥橲.
路 You are expected to be presentable at all times.
路 Make sure there is always someone at the reception at all operational times.
