Contract Role - Major Water Project (Thames Water Region)
Rate - 700+ per day
We are seeking a Senior Design Manager to join a tier-one contractor delivering a major water infrastructure project within the Thames Water region. This is a contract position operating inside IR35.
Location
Based in Kingston Upon Thames, with travel required to sites across the contract.
Role Overview
As Senior Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading engineering design delivery for assigned projects within the AMP8 cycle for Thames Water.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering design processes across all project stages, from definition to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Ensure full compliance with Principal Designer regulatory duties and maintain proper records.
- Develop design strategies, evaluating multiple alternatives to identify optimal solutions.
- Work collaboratively with other project functions to drive efficient delivery.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in civil engineering design within a regulated environment (water industry or similar).
- Recent experience in a management role on large-scale civil engineering design projects.
- Relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of BIM processes with proficiency in Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar BIM model viewing software.
