Site Fabric Supervisor - Large Heritage Site, Kingston Upon Thames
A leading FM service provider is seeking a Site Fabric Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations at a prestigious heritage site in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum, along with excellent career progression and training opportunities.
Job Role & Responsibilities
Working Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, you will be responsible for supervising and carrying out both planned and reactive fabric maintenance tasks to ensure the site remains in top condition. You will lead a team of fabric engineers and maintenance operatives, ensuring high standards of workmanship, health & safety compliance, and excellent client service.
Key Duties:
- Supervision & Leadership: Oversee a team of fabric engineers, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Schedule and conduct inspections and maintenance on building fabric elements such as doors, windows, flooring, ceilings, and roofing.
- Reactive Repairs: Respond to urgent fabric maintenance requests, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Joinery & Carpentry: Repair and maintain timber structures, doors, skirting, and general woodwork.
- Painting & Decorating: Carry out touch-ups and full repaints where necessary to maintain site aesthetics.
- Plastering & Tiling: Perform small repairs and refurbishments to walls, ceilings, and tiled surfaces.
- Roof & Gutter Maintenance: Inspect and maintain roofing elements, ensuring proper drainage and protection against weather damage.
- Fire Door & Safety Compliance: Inspect and maintain fire doors, emergency exits, and other essential building fabric elements.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the building services or fabric maintenance trade.
- At least 3 years’ supervisory/lead experience, ideally within a commercial or heritage site environment.
- Strong background in fabric maintenance, including joinery, painting, plastering, and general repairs.
- Excellent client-facing skills, with a proactive and professional approach.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations, including RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statements).
