As a member of the Apprenticeship Management Team, the Group Deputy Head will have responsibility for Apprenticeships in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Professional (STEP) Construction.

Within this role, you will work closely with the Business Development team to develop and secure new business, following up on Apprenticeship enquiries, employer new business enquiries and IAG for parents and prospective apprentices. You will keep abreast of all Apprenticeship standards, as well as monitoring programmes within this area of work, and take responsibility for the Apprenticeship journey, ensuring all apprentices achieve in a timely manner.

You will also support and collaborate with the Group Apprenticeship Team Leader and Apprenticeship Administrators to ensure there is clear coordination of the sign-up process and its accuracy and compliance of the paperwork.

This role would suit someone who has significant experience of successfully tracking and monitoring apprentices through their programmes. You will have a proven track record of engaging with employers and developing apprenticeships and curriculum, and of monitoring and supporting 'at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential. With high personal standards and expectations, you will be receptive to new ideas and initiatives and have a creative approach to problem solving.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that is implemented in the new academic year.

You will be required to work at other sites with the respective apprenticeship teams as directed by the Group Head of Apprenticeships.

Closing date for the return of completed applications is 29th October 2024.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 27 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme.
