We are seeking a qualified Lecturer in Criminology to join our team within a further education setting. This role is crucial in supporting our expanding Criminology portfolio, particularly in further education contexts.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Design, plan, and implement effective and inclusive teaching activities tailored to further education.
  • Teach across a range of modules or within a subject area using appropriate methods and technologies.
  • Assess student work and progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Supervise and support students on placements, including visits to placement settings.
  • Reflect on teaching design and delivery to improve performance, utilizing feedback and research outcomes.
  • Engage in professional development related to teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Contribute to outreach and Widening Participation activities within the Department.
  • Handle student queries and provide advice on unit content and delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Criminology Level 3 qualification.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Special interest in areas like policing, probation, forms of criminality
  • Experience in designing and delivering inclusive and effective teaching activities in a further education setting.
  • Ability to provide supervision and support to students, including on placements.
