We are seeking a Humanities Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Kingston-upon-Thames starting in January 2025. Humanities Teaching Assistant | Role Overview:
As a Humanities Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support lesson delivery, assist students in their learning, and help manage the classroom. This role is ideal for graduates who are considering a future career in teaching and want hands-on experience before pursuing teacher training.
Humanities Teaching Assistant | Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in planning and delivering Humanities lessons across History, Geography, Religious Studies, and Politics.
- Provide tailored support to students, working with both small groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- Help students with assignments, projects, and exam preparation.
- Manage classroom behaviour and foster a positive learning environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks and resource preparation for lessons.
Teacher Training Opportunities: This role offers potential teacher training opportunities for the September 2025 intake. As a Humanities Teaching Assistant, youll gain the experience and insight needed to support your application for teacher training, with mentoring and guidance throughout your time in the role.
Humanities Teaching Assistant | Requirements:
- First-Class Degree in History, Geography, Religious Studies, or Politics from a Top 30 University
- Previous child-centered working experience.
- Passion for teaching and helping students succeed
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Previous experience working with young people is advantageous but not essential
