Overview:

A leading food manufacturing company is seeking an Assistant Hygiene Manager to support the Hygiene Manager and Team Leaders in ensuring the highest levels of hygiene standards across the site. The ideal candidate will have experience in hygiene management within a food manufacturing environment and be skilled in leading and developing a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional site management to ensure compliance with hygiene standards, including cleaning schedules and methods.
  • Train staff on hygiene tasks, including cleaning procedures and chemical handling.
  • Maintain and update the training matrix for hygiene activities.
  • Monitor hygiene performance, conduct daily checks, and ensure all necessary documentation is correctly completed.
  • Implement business strategies, assigning roles within the hygiene team to improve efficiency and standards.
  • Support the Hygiene Manager in mentoring and developing team leaders and operatives.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of internal and customer audits.
  • Manage hygiene equipment, consumables, and chemicals, ensuring proper storage and usage.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Hygiene Supervisor or Team Leader in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • Food Safety Level 3
  • HACCP Level 3
  • Experience working in a High Care environment is preferred
