Job Description:
A Trading Standards officer is required to undertake a project to map the extent of retail sellers corrosive materials across the Shared Environment Service, noting other age restricted items for sale in the premises including vapes and knives. To provide advice, guidance and if necessary take enforcement action to ensure that items are compliant with legislation appropriately stored, that the suppliers understand their responsibilities in respect of preventing sales of age restricted products to minors, and in respect of corrosives, for these to be added to the "Corrosives Database." In respect of any vape products found - to provide an advice document to vape sellers to advise on the proposed legislative changes to ban Single Use Vapes from June 2025.
