Primary Intervention Tutor – Kingston-upon-Thames

Are you passionate about making a difference in a child’s learning journey? We are looking for a dedicated Primary Intervention Tutor to join an oversubscribed ‘Outstanding’ school in Kingston. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support to thrive academically.

Role: Primary Intervention Tutor
Location: Kingston-upon-Thames, London
Start Date: January 2024
Contract Type: Full-time to term-time, until the end of the academic year
Salary: £20,000-£25,000 per year, pro rata

Primary Intervention Tutor | Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group interventions to primary-aged students, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and general academic support.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to identify students who would benefit from additional support.
  • Tailor lessons to meet the individual needs of students, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including dyslexia, ADHD, and speech & language delays.
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages growth and confidence.
 
Primary Intervention Tutor | Key Requirements:
  • Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly in a 1:1 or small group setting.
  • Strong understanding of primary education, with experience in providing interventions in literacy and numeracy.
  • Experience with children who have SEN (Special Educational Needs) is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • A 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a Top UK University
