Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are now seeking a Security Manager to be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors across all campuses within the college group. This involves developing, implementing, and managing security protocols, leading the security team, and coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as needed. You will also oversee risk assessments, monitoring security systems, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, you will provide leadership and direction to ensure the security team is proactive and effective in safeguarding the college community, review and maintain emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans, fire drills, and lockdown procedures and act as a point of contact for students, staff, and parents regarding security concerns, offering advice and resolution strategies.

We’d like you to have excellent security management experience, ideally within an educational institution or similar environment, be proficient in using security systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control technologies and hold a degree in Security Management, or a related field. With evidence of sound financial management of both revenue and capital budgets with large organisation, you’ll be able to produce and analyse data and make appropriate recommendations with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within and outside of the Group, including communicating technical information to non-technical specialists.

Able to establish credibility with managers and understand the business need, you will be able to work individually and as part of a team with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
