Join Achieving for Children's Expanding Residential and Outreach Services

Our Client is growing its residential and outreach services, offering essential care and support to children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. With Hope House already providing a nurturing home for children aged 10-17, we are expanding with a second home in Old Windsor (2025) and a third in Surbiton (2026). Alongside this, we are developing edge-of-care outreach services to support children at risk of entering care.

About the Role

As a Therapeutic Intervention Worker, you will play a vital role in:? Providing high-quality, relationship-based care to young people in a residential setting.? Creating a nurturing, family-oriented environment where children feel safe and valued.? Managing challenging behaviours linked to trauma, including self-harm and risk-taking behaviours.? Supporting young people in building resilience, emotional regulation, and independence.? Working collaboratively with professionals, families, and social care teams to deliver tailored support.

In addition to residential care, you will deliver 1-to-1 outreach support, helping children and families in their own homes and communities. This will include:? Preventing young people from entering care through targeted intervention.? Supporting families in implementing positive parenting strategies.? Providing respite support for carers by engaging young people in meaningful activities.

This is a shift-based role, including overnights (sleep-ins), weekends, and bank holidays (including Christmas and New Year).

About You

We are looking for individuals with:? Experience working with vulnerable young people, particularly those who have experienced trauma.? Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and support young people in crisis.? The ability to manage challenging behaviours, de-escalate conflict, and provide emotional support.? Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed care.? A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to reach their full potential.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:? Level 3 Diploma in Caring for Children & Young People (or willingness to work towards this).? GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.? Experience working in residential care, family support, or youth outreach services.
