Our client, a not-for-profit organisation, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Looked After Children Team within the LAC Service.

As a Qualified Social Worker in our Looked After Children Team, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential support and guidance to children in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and long-term stability. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will work to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake assessments and develop care plans for looked after children, tailored to their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Provide direct support and intervention to children and young people in care, promoting their emotional, educational, and social development.
  • Collaborate closely with foster carers, adoptive families, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in care.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of looked after children, ensuring their voices are heard and their views are taken into account in decision-making processes.
  • Monitor and review the progress of looked after children, identifying any areas for additional support or intervention.
  • Participate in court work when necessary
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, complying with relevant legislation and organizational policies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant degree or diploma in social work.
  • Registered with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England).
  • Experience working with looked after children and or similar service.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to children in care.
