Job Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide tailored support to students with varying learning needs. As an LSA, you will work closely with teachers to assist with the delivery of inclusive lessons, providing additional help to students who require extra support in their learning. This role requires someone who is passionate about education, committed to helping children succeed, and can build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with learning needs, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum.
  • Assist teachers in preparing and adapting learning materials to cater to individual student needs.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) in class and during school activities.
  • Help students with personal care, if required, in line with school policies.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members regarding student progress and needs.
  • Assist with classroom management and create a safe and engaging learning space.
Person Specification:
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in a learning support or educational setting, is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and well-being.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting students with diverse needs.
  • A relevant qualification in education or SEN (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is preferred but not essential.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
