SEN Teaching Assistant - September 2025 Start

We're looking for a caring, committed, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school community in Kingston this September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely wants to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the classroom, supporting pupils with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), dyslexia, and other learning differences. Working alongside experienced educators, you'll help tailor learning experiences, build students' confidence, and create a nurturing environment where every child can flourish.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN
  • Assist teachers with planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
  • Support students with communication, personal care, social interaction, and emotional well-being
  • Encourage the development of key skills in literacy, numeracy, and life skills
  • Monitor progress and share insights with teaching staff and families
  • Help create a calm, inclusive, and inspiring learning space
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (ideal but not essential)
  • A nurturing, patient, and positive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or 3) is a plus
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
