Position Overview for CAD and Contracts Engineer;
The CAD and Contracts Engineer is responsible for producing detailed 2D general arrangement drawings for customer approval, creating accurate and detailed manufacturing drawings, instructions, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Key Responsibilities for CAD and Contracts Engineer;
- Prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings of the company’s product range for customer review.
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings for bespoke air handling units (AHUs) based on approved specifications.
- Design and develop solutions for specific customer requirements and projects.
- Generate and process Bills of Materials using the company’s internal system.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Communicate with suppliers to place orders and manage component availability for production.
- Ensure the accuracy of drawings, job packs, and BOMs.
- Meet client expectations in terms of drawing production and timelines.
- Proactively identify and report any issues that may delay project deliverables.
- Manage the approval process by issuing customer approval packs and tracking approval timelines.
- Process purchase orders in a timely manner to meet customer and production needs.
- Maintain records and provide regular feedback to management.
Skills and Experience for CAD and Contracts Engineer;
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.
- Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience in managing contracts, liaising with clients, and supplier management is advantageous.
