- Carry out general repairs and maintenance work within the school, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
- Ensure all school buildings and grounds are in good working order and maintain the school’s infrastructure.
- Regularly inspect the school’s facilities, identifying any repairs or improvements needed.
- Oversee or assist with daily cleaning tasks to maintain high standards of cleanliness in classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and other shared spaces.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are well-maintained and available.
- Monitor cleanliness and hygiene standards to support a safe and healthy learning environment
- Report any hazards or health and safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, conducting fire drills and ensuring the proper functioning of fire safety equipment.
- Help with the movement of furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience in general maintenance or caretaking roles (preferably in a school or similar environment).
- A good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to carry out physical tasks and lift/move equipment when necessary.
- Previous experience in a caretaker, maintenance, or facilities role (school experience is desirable).
- Must have an Enhanced DBS check.Â
