Job: Toolroom ImproverLocation: Brierley Hill, DudleyHourly Salary: £16.77 includes shift allowanceRotating Shifts:Monday to Thursday 6.00 - 14.30 Friday 6.00 - 12.00Monday - Thursday 13.30 - 22.00 Friday 11.00 - 17.00We are looking for experienced Toolroom Improvers (x2) to join our very successful client in the Automotive Industry.Role Purpose:To safely maintain and prepare Injection moulding tools to enable products to be manufactured in optimum time with correct dimensions and quality required by the customer manufacturing. Ensuring that a strict TPM schedule is adhered to.To repair Injection moulding tools where required, and to advise when external repairs are necessary.Carry out insert changes, and support production where required to keep tooling operational to meet customer demands.Main Role Duties / Scope:
  • Carry out all work activities in a manner which maintains the well-being of self and others in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Responsible for ensuring that stored water is evacuated from the tools in line with Legionella
  • requirements and the Tool Evacuation log is maintained.
  • Identify potential tool breakdown issues and report to relevant department in order to decrease the downtime of tools e.g., hot runners, water fittings, core fittings and electrical connections tool wear and damage.
  • Ability to complete basic machining tasks using milling machines, lathes, and general hand tools where required.
  • Basic benching ability to bring injection moulding tools back to production standard when required.
  • Ability to record and maintain data to achieve manufacturing metrics.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping at all times.
  • Ensure that all lifting tackle in use has the correct colour tie attached, non-compliant equipment to
  • be quarantined and reported.
  • Carry out tooling TPM’s in line with the schedule laid out and maintain the TPM database.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping at all times being responsible for correct storage and validating that 5S cleaning and inspection of equipment is completed to the standard.
Person Specification / Required Skills:The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and feelcomfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels within the business. Candidates must have a proactiveand hands on technical approach to tasks alongside high levels of problem-solving skills. You should becapable of working to your own initiatives, and competent in satisfying demanding deadlines.
  • Previous basic machining / technical experience
  • Experience of injection moulding tooling.
  • Min level 3 engineering qualification / equivalent experience
  • Significant experience working in a fast-paced Tier 1 Manufacturing environment.
  • High level of Literacy & Numeracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Office package
