We are seeking a highly competent and enthusiastic Senior Building Surveyor who is self-driven and client-facing. The successful candidate will enjoy a diverse range of high-quality instructions, with a focus on the design and contract administration of new build, extension, refurbishment, and elemental renewal building projects.
Salary = £48-55K
Bonus = £5-10K
Office location = Dudley (DY postcode)
Day to Day of the Role:
- Design and provide clear direction to Architectural Technologists for AutoCAD output.
- Manage project procurement through the RIBA work stages.
- Advise clients on schemes and projects, determining requirements through feasibility studies and budget costings.
- Prepare scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects, and specifications of works.
- Prepare documents for tender and advise on appointing contractors, designers, and procurement routes.
- Undertake contract administration and project management.
- Ensure projects are completed on budget and to schedule.
- Secure Capital funding from funding agencies.
- Conduct building surveys, identify and analyse defects, including proposals for repair.
- Advise on the management and supervision of maintenance works, including the provision of PPM schedules.
- Process planning applications and advise clients on property legislation, including DDA, health and safety, and building regulations.
- Carry out party wall procedures for both building owner and adjoining owner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven Senior Building Surveyor experience within consultancy
- Experience in Professional Services work, Fire Risk Assessments, and Party Wall surveying is beneficial.
- Experience providing services to the public sector, ideally the Education Sector.
- Well-rounded in all areas of managerial responsibility and building surveying.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A clean Enhanced DBS Check is required due to work with education clients.
