Job Description: We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join a team in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have experience with FANUC controls on CNC lathes, specifically in machining fasteners and threads. This role requires a deep understanding of technical and engineering drawings, as well as proficiency with inspection equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate CNC lathes using FANUC controls.

  • Machine fasteners, with a focus on threading, ensuring precision and quality.

  • Read and understand technical and engineering drawings.

  • Use inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers, thread micrometers, and thread gauges (caliper, ring, and plug).

  • Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency across two machines in one cell.

  • Provide technical support and assistance as needed.

  • Continuously improve processes and techniques to enhance productivity and quality.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes with FANUC controls.

  • Experience machining fasteners, especially threads, is essential.

  • Ability to read and understand technical and engineering drawings.

  • Proficiency with inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers, thread micrometers, and thread gauges.

  • Ideally, 3+ years of experience in the above aspects.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to train and develop operators with a strong foundation.
