Working within a well-established R&D department, you will design and use CAD to create accurate, detailed drawings for the manufacture of innovative thermal spray systems for a vast range of industries.

This position reports directly to the R&D Manager and is an integral part of the R&D team as well as supporting the rest of the business with technical drawings and information.

CAD Design Engineer Job Overview
  • Creation of 3D models, technical and manufacturing drawings to meet current requirements, technical and drawing standards.
  • Design and drafting of electro-mechanical systems, components and assemblies.
  • Use of quality tools such as FMEA, DFMA.
  • Ensure drawings and supporting technical information remains up to date and correctly organised.
  • Revising parts and assemblies to ease manufacture and/or mitigate quality issues
  • Supporting NPI, design changes and the Engineering Change Process.
  • Assisting in the product safety certification process for CE and other relevant approvals.
  • Contribute to the production and management of costed Bill of Materials for manufacture.
CAD Design Engineer Job Requirements
  • Graduate/HND in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Mechanical design experience with ideally an understanding of electrical systems and a variety of manufacturing processes, materials and components.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD (Ideally Autodesk Fusion).
  • Use of engineering tools (e.g. stress calculations, FEA, FMEA, DFM) with an understanding of when to use what tool to achieve the most suitable result.
  • Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment.
CAD Design Engineer Salary & Benefits
  • Salary - £30k to £38k Depending on Experience
  • Holidays - 25.5 days plus bank holidays
