As a Panel Wirer, you will be responsible for wiring electrical control panels and associated equipment for custom-built machinery. You will work from detailed electrical drawings and schematics, assembling components and ensuring the machines operate efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and wire control panels for special purpose machinery according to schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Install and connect electrical components, including switches, relays, PLCs, drives, and sensors.
  • Test and troubleshoot panel assemblies to ensure proper functionality.
  • Collaborate with design and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the wiring process.
  • Comply with company safety standards and adhere to electrical codes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Panel Wirer, ideally working on special purpose or bespoke machinery.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, wiring practices, and panel layout.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with PLCs, motor controls, and other automation components is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • NVQ or qualification in electrical engineering (Level 3 or equivalent).
