Road Freight Operator- Role and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside and support the Operations Supervisor
  • Communicate with overseas agents
  • Liaise with hauliers, negotiate rates and prepare quotations
  • Organise customs clearance for imports and exports
  • Handle all documentation including commercial invoices, DGN and COO
  • Update CRM

Road Freight Operator - Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working within the Freight Industry is essential - Road Freight- FTL / PTL /Groupage
  • Must have sound knowledge of both import and export processes (road) from start to finish
  • Previous experience with trade lanes: Covering all of Europe
  • Must have knowledge of how collections and distributions work within the UK
  • Knowledge of customs systems: CDS, NCTS, Sequoia, Destin8, CNS and GMR
  • Previous experience with Home Use, IPR, OPR (desirable)
  • Previous experience working with Commodity Codes / Incoterms (advantageous)
  • Previous experience raising EAD’s, T forms and IDR documents for all export and import shipments (advantageous)
