Are you an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior with a general practice skill set, looking for a long-term career in a fantastic regional practice?

We are currently searching for an experienced, enthusiastic Accounts Semi-Senior who is or nearly is part-qualified ACA / ACCA to join our well-established and ever-growing client!

The Company

Our client is a well-established, commercially astute accountancy firm providing a full array of accountancy services to clients across a variety of business sectors throughout the UK. Their client base includes architects, medical professional services, doctors, dentists, retail, manufacturing, and wholesale clients and they also provide services to a wide range of private clients, sole traders and partnerships.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join a successful, reputable firm. Their existing team consists of 3 directors and 12 employees, and they boast a fantastic reputation built in over 42 years of hard work; they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior to join the team.

What will you be doing?

Responsible for the day-to-day administration of client matters involving, but not limited to:

  • Self-employed and partnership accounts.
  • Personal tax returns and partnership tax returns, including for some high-net-worth individuals.
  • Statutory accounts preparation (FRS105 and FRS 102(1a) mainly.
  • Corporate tax returns.
  • Quarter-end VAT reviews and in-year management accounts production.
  • Tax and business development planning around all the above.
  • Responsible for overseeing more junior colleagues and assisting with their development.
  • Interacting with the bookkeeping and payroll team members to ensure timely information transfer into summary accounts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Use your own initiative to resolve issues.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of two - three years practice experience, within a practice environment.
  • Sage 50 / Sage Online / QuickBooks Cloud / Xero and Excel knowledge is desirable.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of current tax legislation.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and a high concern for accuracy.
  • A good team player.
  • Minimum GCSEs of C plus in Maths and English, with strong further results at GCSE and A-level (degree level education is not mandatory).
  • Driving licence is essential due to location.
